Positive Happiness Introduction

January 27, 2011 by zac sky in Positive Happiness

Welcome to Positive Happiness - my personal mind-hacking theory that allows you to take control and improve your life, become successful and achieve anything you want!

Positive Happiness in a nutshell

I was once asked to explain the concept of Positive Happiness in five sentences. Tough ask. There is a lot of information, experiments, and research that I base the theory on and to boil it down to just five little sentences did not seem right. In fact it was easier to go for three instead:

Being positive will make you happy.
Being happy will make you positive.
Being positive AND happy will make you positively happy!

Sounds too simple right? I totally agree. I cannot really explain the beauty of Positive Happiness in just three sentences but if I could only ensure everyone learnt one thing from me then it would be to understand the inextricable link between being positive and being happy, and how they are required as two equal parts in the recipe for a successful life.

If reading those three sentences makes you feel confused, don't worry. It was supposed to. I say that being positive makes you happy, but if being happy makes you positive then don't you just find yourself traveling around in a big circle? And which comes first - the happiness or the positivity? This is what I call "The Positive Happiness Paradox".

The Positive Happiness Paradox

Without delving too deeply for now (this is just the introduction after all) the crux of the paradox is that both positivity and happiness must exist and work together in equal parts in order to be successful.

Either aspect, happiness or positivity, on its own will fail unless supported by an equal part of the other. You cannot be unhappy and positive, or happy and negative.

Have you ever been angry, sad, or depressed but tried to break out of that mood by forcing yourself to think and be positive? Hard isn't it? That is because the link between your happiness (or lack of) and positivity is so strong that your negative mood was fighting against your positive mindset. These battles are tough to win, but the good news is that once you start fighting your negativity they become easier to win. The even better news is that over the coming weeks I will show you how to do it.

What is Lifestyle Freedom

January 21, 2011 by zac sky in Lifestyle Freedom, Positive Happiness

Lifestyle freedom is about having an abundance of choice in your life. It is about discarding what is common-place in society and having the ability to define how you spend every hour of your day. Lifestyle freedom is breaking yourself out of "lifestyle jail", where you are chained to a job, and achieving ultimate freedom - the freedom to do whatever you want.

Lifestyle Freedom is not just about finding a way to quit your job, it is about doing what makes you happy in life. I mean the 100% content, all warm-and-fuzzy with a big smile on your face type of happy.

I have never understood the concept of having a "job". Why are people expected to spend half their life trading their valuable time and skills to perform a boring and repetitive job just to take home some money? Why do we work right through our prime years when we are at our mental and physical peak? Why do we base our life decisions around work and not the other way around? It just does not make sense to me.

I believe that people accept this as "the way it is" because it is such a strongly supported lie that has been force-fed from such a young age that it becomes ingrained. Most adults will encourage kids to study hard to do well in school and then get a good job. They consider that success. Not me.

Being successful is about being able to do whatever makes you happy in your life, and for most people that is not "work". Deep down I think people see how much of a scam having to work all week is, but sadly they don't do anything about it. They will spend most of their life wishing something better would happen (like winning lotto) instead of making that something better happen.

The good news is that you can change this. You do not have to be stuck in a job you hate with people you despise, but if you desire to achieve Lifestyle Freedom then you need courage to break yourself out of that lifestyle jail. You will need to take back the power in your life, learn to control it, and make positive decisions. Once you have mastered that then you can do anything you want.

And that is the real point of Lifestyle Freedom. It is not just about finding a way to quit your job, it is about doing what makes you happy in life. I mean the 100% content, all warm-and-fuzzy with a big smile on your face type of happy.

So ask yourself, "Is what I am doing, something that makes me happy?"
